Sitting on creek with youngest daughter so I can try to get her a buck. First cinnamon roll didn’t last 5 min. Son and his buddy sitting 1/2 mile north where a nice one was last night. Nephew is in between us on the pond for a woody shoot. Life is good. Have a blessed new year!

Box stand on old logging road in the bottoms

I’m after my target buck- a mainframe 8 close to 140”. Woke up extra early to try to clear out the deer chili and duck poppers I had last night (it was a success). Even though I went to bed at 9:30 the likelihood of me dozing off is 7/10.

Good luck to all this AM and I wish the best for everyone in 2024!

Happy new year to the board as well. Sitting on a logging road between mixed timber and a cutover. North wind hitting me hard in the face. Hoping for a buck but will shoot a doe today. I only have room for about one more deer in my freezer.

I sat here 2 days ago and got busted taking a wiz. Only bad thing about this stand is you generally won't know the deer is there until it's right on top of you. Great time to get the year started off right.

Hoping all y’all get a big rack this morning.

PS: spotted a big pile of Xmas trees next to the Jarreau post office yesterday. Got my spies following to find out where in False River this super brush pile will be built. Stay tuned and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Target buck showed back up for the first time in 10 days this morning. Needless to say, I wasn’t making it to the stand this morning. Happy to see he’s still alive nonetheless. Hoping he slips through again this afternoon.

Back at it this afternoon. Warm. Youngest daughter and I just walking the property and stopping to call. Momma ain’t feeling great and little bit has been cooped up so we’re stretching our legs and teaching this afternoon. Deer are more than likely safe…

Happy New Year Baws!

Another late post cause we been chasing deer all day.

North Caddo cold and windy. Great day, lots of deer run and 4 kills for our group. The beagles got the job done today.
