so I have never used GB, but I was just looking and there was a .22 rifle that was selling with no reserve. he had a "buyit now" for $399 with no bids yet. I was thinking that no reserve, meant there would be no starting amount and that it would be sold for any price, even if it is lower than the buyit now. So I was gonna bid like $10, being a cheapass with only 3 hours left on auction, might snag it. Well, when you go to bid, the minimum first bid is $399. That is not what I thought "No reserve" means. Am I wrong?

No reserve means that the auction doesnt have to go above a set amount by the seller to actually complete the auction.
But...the seller can start the bidding at whatever he wants to.
So if I am reading your message correctly, it sounds like: The buy it now price is $399 and the bidding starts $399....that would mean that he is only willing to accept $399 for the gun...

Used it three times and was satisfied with every purchase. Just like most things I actually prefer to purchase my firearms online, as long as I'm familiar with them, as the prices are better and most gun shops around here are staffed by your typical arrogant pseudo-badass because they get to open carry at work.
But Gunbroker is legit, just pay attention to the seller and their feedback and you should be good to go.
