Guided bass trip recommendations

My 8 year old is really into bass fishing right now. Typically, we would go to Venice, but the river won't cooperate lately. I'm thinking about getting an Airbnb and getting a guide for a few days to go catch some good fish on a lake. His biggest so far is a 4lb bass in the neighborhood pond. I'm thinking maybe Caney or Toledo Bend. I haven't been to either of them before. Any recommendations from the OB?

Either woukd be good. Right now Toledo is fishing good for numbers and occasional big bass
Caney you have the better chance of catching a giant. Two guides there hunter freeman and Colby dark. Both good but on opposites ends of the spectrum. One is real chill and one could stand to lay off the energy drinks but he flat out catches

I'm a big fan of Lay Lake and Lake Mitchell in Clanton, AL Not sure about the guided tours though

For an 8 year old, I’d check out a place like Trophy Bass Haven. Large, private lakes that are professionally managed and would give him a great shot at a lunker.

Really tough time of year to catchem real easy and good on a public lake.(I write as I’m trying to cool down after minimal affective morning on T Bend)If you’re gonna pay def do some private managed lakes where he’ll get a bunch of bites. He’s not gonna care where he caught what he catches

I have taken my boys to Grosse Savanne several times for birthdays, etc. Its really great for kids, tons of fish on beginner friendly techniques. Senkos, flukes with bullet weight in the front, easy to throw, zero experience needed. Get it in the water and you'll get bit.
We've had 75 fish days up to 5-6 pounds.
We dont stay at the lodge, that's $$$$ for "fun trips".

If you don't mind coming to Florida you can catch absolute monsters at Rodman Reservoir in central Florida. Look up Captain Sean Rush on facebook, he posts pictures of his catches every week and there are always several 8+ pounds

Some guides on TB only do catch and release. Make sure you read the fine print if you want to keep your fish.

We just came back from Caney Sunday. We didn’t do a guide (should have) and really sucked at bass fishing. My youngest did manage to catch one weighing 4.03.
Very small lake and Friday and Saturdays are loaded mid day till around 5pm with wake boats, jet skis and regular water sport activities, with that being said I’d do a Sunday - Thursday trip.
We had a blast while there swimming in lake by our rented camp. You can see what’s open at Jimmy Davis State Park, I hear cabins are nice there but don’t know for sure.

Bent Rods Guide Service on Toledo Bend is on them now and I believe they have their own accommodations. The owner posts here from time to time also I believe.

I run Bent Rods Guide Service on Toledo Bend. We have a water view house we rent and can help y’all catch some fish. Today was a little tougher than it has been the past 2 weeks. We ended the day with 20, but had been catching 30-50 every day with one day catching 76. I think this tropical depression has them in a funk. If you can wait, November and December are tons of fun. Lots of 100+ days with plenty of quality fish.

Thanks for all the replies. I would love to wait until Nov-Dec, but that is deer season. I may have to try and make a trip sooner. I will reach out when I get some time. Thanks!
