Thinking about hitting up the Isle this weekend or next. Looking for Reds and Specs of course. Also looking to find a few flounder. Will probably stay at Bridgeside. Any advice on hot baits and general locations at the moment?

They should be stacking up on side of hwy1 real soon... dat forbidden hole and snake pit has always does me well. If In a boat, head to the back towards Texaco or hackberry bay.

I don’t have a report but I’ll be in Leeville 3 days next weekend. Fish should be moving in with these cold fronts.

That's what I'm hoping. We will have a flat boat though. Prolly put in on north side of road.

Went down last weekend. Water was high and wind was whipping but we were able to find some decently clean water in the marsh behind the island.
White Trout were everywhere, picked up probably 130 or so. Some were smaller so we threw them back, but still fun.
Ran into some nice size specs when the wind calmed down on Sunday late morning. They were also back in the shallow ponds. We didn't try the bay for trout due to the chop.
Mainly targeted Redfish, and found them. Pickup up 3 man limit both days.
Trout: Top Water, Cocahoe under cork caught the largest one (20"), Matrix shad with or without cork (Shrimp Creole, Limbo Slice & Lemonhead)
Redfish: Water was high so they were deep in the marsh. Had some great blowups on the top water but I really had to work it (worth it IMO). I didn't have much luck with spinner baits. Cocahoe under-cork up against the marsh worked well too.
The wind looks nasty this weekend but I am headed down again anyway.
Edit* General Location: Ran around the marsh behind Chenier to find protection from the wind. Slipped into the ponds that looked "fishy"
Good luck

We fished off of LA1 2 weeks ago in kayaks off of LA1. Look for clean (green) water moving in 2-4 feet. I found that Vudu under a popping cork was just as affective as live bait. Best of luck......... don't let the wind scare you off but no need to waste your time with dirty water. The cooler temps should help the sediment drop out as well.

2 weekends ago, fished the canal and cuts around Beauregard Island. Used minnows under a cork. One boat caught 2 red limits, the other caught 1 limit. Picked up a few specks here and there.

Thanks for the advice guys. Looking to head that way Thursday of this week. Just couldn't get away last weekend plus the wind forecast made me not work real hard to get away.
