They showed up boys.

Went yesterday, got to the island at 5:15 PM. Had 5 dozen and back in the truck at 6:30PM.

They behind the rocks in the flat water. Scoop them up with a long handle net, wear some good polarized glasses. You can almost pick what crab you want. Throw the sponge crabs back.

Also, we caught about a dozen males..... I've never caught males on the beach. They were riding the backs of the females.

We wore em out Friday. Scooped prob 12 dozen and threw back just as many pompoms. Couldn’t get the wife to stop scoopin, I don’t wanna see or peel a crab for at least a month.

My wife and her family would tear through those in minutes. Shells flying everywhere.

Caught a dozen for a quikie boil Saturday morning in the surf across from the hurricane hole marina.
The white shrimp are selling for 4$ a pound and are very nice. We put 5 lbs in with the crab boil. the other 45 lbs I took home to south texas
