recently purchased a 2011 chevy Z-71 LTZ and added a 5" lift kit, 31" Mickey Thompson tires (kept factory wheels), spray in bedliner, and step bars. Went from looking like my dad's truck to BAD arse !!

A) a typo
B) blew wad on lift and ran out of money before the tires were calculated into the cost. Hell a 2011 with 20's comes with stock 32" tires

yep go up. Never down on a 4x4.
Put a 2.5 inch leveling kit on my F150 and added 33" tires to the factory rims. It now looks like a 4x4 and not that factory shite.

why do all the new 4x4's look just like a 2wd but with a nifty sticker by the back tire?

The chevy's are the same height. The ford 4x4's have a 1" block on the rear so it sits a little higher.
