So you put the goat in the same pen as coon dogs, and let the goat kick arse

That's what we did. Mulch wore those dogs out. A few head butts will show the dogs who the boss is.

they usually both belong to rednecks in the country

eta: you edited, BarD said "What do coon dogs and goats have in common". I'm not crazy.

Well, I was trying to figure out if I wanted a few goats. The only purpose I had seen for them was they were great at braking coon dogs from running deer.

They're funny to watch sometimes. A buddy has a few and keeps them in a fenced back yard. His kids have one of those playground and slides. They'll run up it, then slide down playing.

I would think per acre you could have a few goats. Get a male and a few females, then let nature take its course.

Random question for anyone. Do you have to refrigerate chicken eggs straight from a hen?

No. They'll keep for a bit without needing refrigeration.

Never ate goat that I can remember. Does it resemble venison in any way or more like lamb?

weeks. I personally wouldn't do let them set unrefrigerated more than a few days, but I've been told by others a few weeks. I'm not so sure about that though.

I've never eaten goat either.

Have had goat milk and cheese, but never slaughtered one for meat. Had em growing up, and back then, it was a chore to find someone to take them off our hands when we got rid of them. They decided to eat shrubs and flowers and had to go at that point.

we used to bobby q a couple every 4th of July... it can get a little bit stringy, but good bobby q..
hung em from the skinning rack, slit throat while still alive, kept pouring buckets of water down throat... sounded pretty nasty to a 4 year old... thats about the earliest i can remember it..
