I have an SA XD 3.8" 9 mm for my CC so this will be for home defense and shooting.
I don't like the fact my SA XD does not have a thumb slide fire safety so I will be keeping it locked up when it is in my house.
I need another gun for my home and iI have decide to go ahead and purchase a glock.

You are aware that Glock pistols do not have a manual safety at all...
I am a Sig guy and generally prefer .45 ACP. However, I do have a Glock 23 (.40 S&W) and I have no complaints.

I LOVE my Glock36 in .45
Single stack mag but it's very easy to carry, much more comfortable compared to other glocks

45
if you own a 9mm then go with 45. Cut the middle guy out. the Glock 45 is a sweeter shooting gun than the .40 also

I have a glock 23 .40 s&w and I really like it because I can drop in a 9mm conversion barrel to shoot 9mm. However I prefer shooting .45 acp the most. For some reason I'm most accurate with my colt .45. If I had to get another glock it would probably be a glock 30 or a glock 36.

Im thinking of going to Herbert's and looking at their used glocks.

Won't get one used, but the 30S is an awesome HD gun.
If you shoot the 36 well, it is great too. Only 7 round capacity, but 7 rounds of .45 is formidable. Great carry gun that is big enough for HD and enjoyable to shoot.

Went 2 weeks ago and their new handgun prices ran $20-$30 cheaper than cabelas and about $15-$10 cheaper than academy.
I didn't look at the used guns or prices.
I'm gonna hit up BJ's gun and pawn on hwy 190 sometimes this week also.
I don't mind buying a glock used according to some here they are indestructible and always go bang.

Which has nothing to do with a Glock. The .45 round is just smoother than the snappy/crappy .40
Do yourself a favor and get a 1911
