Glacier NP - My favorite place in the world.

This is the best picture that I have ever taken and it is my favorite. No touch ups. This was the view just outside my window at Many Glacier Lodge about 15 years ago. I have it as my screen saver now. I woke up one morning, waiting for the winds to die down, and took over 300 pictures from 4 a.m. to 7 a.m. The sun rises early and sets late in Glacier in the summer.

Always wanted to go backpacking in Glacier. The two days of travel on each side to make it happen have always kept me from going.

Sounds tempting for sure...just don’t think I have the cojones to do it. The Grizzly threat is very real...can’t find the story I was thinking of..guy who survived.

Ed: check this shite out...

Yea that is the trail we kept trying to hike but it was closed everyday because of bears hunting goat. They have to go 3 consecutive days without seeing a bear to open it back up.

Lot of variation in terrain in Glacier. And some of the streams are just incredible to look at.

Here’s the story. Dude is one tough bastard.
I sure would like to go sometime. I think it would be cool to take Amtrack up there.

Breathtaking....seriously, the area should be on anyone's must see list if at all possible. I like the redneck rivierra as much as anyone but at least 2 weeks out of a lifetime should be spent looking at views like that....
