I read it as the opposite. Guide called him to say he would need to reschedule, but OP can’t do the dates he’s wanting to reschedule for.
This would make the most sense. The more I read the OP, the more confused I get. He clearly has never heard of dangling modifiers.

He called to reschedule to dates that would be bow hunt only for the deer portion. We've never bow hunted, so that would not have worked for us. Ghosted for two weeks now. I would offer a Sonic meetup, but he won't answer.

Not sure how far off a drive it is for you, but I would drive a long way for $3100. If going to find him is not an option, hire a local attorney. If you are hiring an attorney, let the social media beatings begin.
$.02.

Not very flexible now are you, lol?
Seriously, that is shite situation he is pulling. I would probably drive a ways to a Sonic for that kind of cash.
You also have to be a Devil with that screen name and probably the wrong individual to pull this kind of crap on.

What would you do in this situation?
I'm not sure what the appropriate amount of time is before turning loose the dogs of war, but I've seen the OT do good work.

Section 5-36-104 - Theft of services
(3) Class D felony if the value of the service is five thousand dollars ($5,000) or less but more than one thousand dollars ($1,000); or
Call the Arkansas State Police or Sheriff’s Department in county you sent payment to.

Teufel Hunden indeed.
In a different time of my life, arse whipping would be my primary choice. Our soft society no longer allows for such a proper remedy. I think the criminal theft of services route may be my first legal path, then I'll try the civil route. Thanks gents.

Report him to the Better Business Bureau. Let social media know about him. Get an attorney to write a letter to him.
I had the same situation happen several times. Fortunately the outfitters were reasonable business people and we rescheduled or they sent me my deposit back.
Good luck

Do you have any of the communication in text? It might be difficult to prove if it was all just over the phone.
Hopefully he’s just busy and will get back to you. Obviously he struggles to handle his business if he had to reschedule your dates…

If he initiated the date change to bow hunting days; then it sounds like you got BBD’d (bigger and better deal). He had bigger clients wanting that date.
Make some noise with some of his clients. Look for Insta account that tag the outfitter in their pics and start asking those people if they have heard from the outfitter. That should shake out the outfitter.

Hire a local attorney and get your money back.

Man that sucks. I'd post him up on here and the OT and let folks do some work lol.
I'd have my attorney send a letter demanding refund, and follow through if he does not.

Yeah, that's refund time if you put a deposit down for rifle season dates and he tries to slide you to bow season.
