But, I don't so we are going to do some duck hunting! He is responding well to the retrieving. He can be a shite head, but he is hard not to like.
Same here with my GSP's. They took really quick to water retrieving, but they get bored with fetching dummies. They figured out if they just wait long enough the dummy will float to the shore. Real birds are the only way to keep them interested.
This guy has some penned raised.
Quail
I did pen raised a few years ago. they really enjoyed that

There are some woodcock around, in fair numbers. They seems to flush or run more so than the quail. That's only the few times we've had our dogs point them.
Is that what you've experienced with woodcock? Or am I off base.

It really just depends, and I have found the weather has a lot to do with how they act. I tend to find birds moving more, wild flush on windy warmer days or if they are in the open with no cover. Sometimes they will sit forever. Look at this bird, it is in both photos. We let it go after the photo shoot...

GSP is my next dog. I got a big yard and a lab now that he can play with. What's the dog's name?

If no one else is interested, I may be. I've got a 2 year old female that is fixed and have been thinking about getting her a companion since the wife's cavalier won't give her the time of day.

I have a visla (nearly the same dog) who could really use a companion. Problem is my house is being renovated and so I'm in a rent house with a smaller yeard. I'm definitely interested though. when can I see him?

Thought more about it. I'd like to see him in person but if all works out, I'd take him. He's the same age as my visla. email me at ******** on gmail if interested.

Good luck in finding him a home.

Killinme smalls, you said you got him from around the French Settlement area. I did too...but I'd say closer to Walker. Any chance it's the same guy? My dog is the same age so I'm wondering...
