Malathion is the only that will for sure kill them.

100% cold pressed neem works very well for aphids and other plant chewing/sucking insects without hurting beneficial bugs. I use this one

2 tbs neem oil, 2 tbs dawn dish soap, 1 gallon of water.

Garden update:

Cucumbers are doing well. Looks like I’ll have a few cucumbers ready to pick probably by the end of the week.

Tomato plants are looking very healthy. They are all flowering and a few have small tomatoes.

Mid March. That’s about the same time I plant every year. Usually we are pretty safe from frost by then. This years weather had me a little concerned though. You can see a few of the older leaves damaged from a couple of the abnormally cold nights we’ve had.

I do have a few of the plants that seem to be straggling. It’s hard to tell cause the bigger ones are hiding them.

I picked one cucumber 2 weeks ago then they got stunted during a cold front. They're just starting to take off again.

I'll be picking green beans this week and tomatoes are still 2-4 weeks away.

i LOVE your setup.

ETA: For anyone, I have probably a stupid question. I have a raised garden bed. First planting was last year.

Do you all uproot old roots to replanting new plants? Or just lay more soil and replant.

Thanks

That set up has been pretty good for me.

I wouldn’t worry about the roots in your soil. They will eventually deteriorate and contribute to the organic matter in your soil. If the roots were fresh, they may bind up some nutrients. But since they are from last year that will not be a problem.

Cut off at the ground and leave the roots. I add new compost and mulch each year.

I pull up the old roots and re-work mine cause Inthrow grass clippings in it often and just want to incorporate it.

I'm telling ya.

Looking at pics here, yet we just had a 24 degree low last night in Arkansas; I had to cover my entire garden.

Hoping my beans survived. Most of the plants in the ground are cool-weather. Tomatoes/Peppers still in seed starters.

I’ll be picking tomatoes in a couple of days. My peppers are still just making green growth. I’m ready to start making salsa again.

My garden is doing well. Had a few pest issues that I've cleared up. My potatoes were started in a garbage can and the foliage is at the top already. My tomatoes plants are a foot tall, but super healthy. I planted them deep in the soil for a better root structure. My romaine is doing well and already harvested some. Onions are taking their time. All my different pepper plants are doing good and some have flowers, but I had issues with small snails eating foliage. Also my bok choi and spinach were under attack by black caterpillars. Snow peas are climbing the trellis and all my herbs are doing well in small containers. Also installed an inground sprinkler system for the plants on a timer yesterday.

Starting to get some produce growing.

Some of the Heinz Super Romas

The first Better Boy has finally broken through

The Poinsett 76 cucumbers are taking off.

I don’t have a single Straight 8 cucumber growing yet. All of the female flowers have been shriveling up. There’s plenty of new ones. Hopefully they’ll start to do something.

That cold front last weekend put a hurtin on my cucumber plants. They’re all still alive and growing, but it damaged a lot of leaves. They look ugly. I’m sure they’ll recover.
