Fun DIY Conservation Hunt

I got a call from a friend that said geese were on his duck lease and he wanted them out of there. He knew I had some gear so he asked if I wanted to hook up the e-caller, put out a few decoys and give it a try.
Not to bad for a do it yourself deal.
The only issue is we went yesterday morning and it got hot. The video he sent with 10's of thousands of geese from Saturday had dwindled in the 2 days it took us to get our stuff together.
We still fooled a few...

It’s the split in the East Zone until this coming Saturday.
During the duck split it’s legal to kill light geese only, no plugs, no limits.
We could have killed 60 specks… Lit quite a few in the spread.

Should have told me I have about 12 dozen socks and I think about 6 dozen full bodies you could have borrowed.
ETA I am still not seeing the mid season conservation you’re talking about in the regs. I thought conservation season for 24-25 was gotten rid of plus goose season is ope for all species

You need way more gear to do have better success on those white rats. Throw about 4-600 full bodies and another 8-1200 socks/silos and you’ll whack them.

Conservation order for light geese is on the 24-25 Migratory Game Bird Schedule in the Louisiana hunting regs.

Yeah, that's chump change. I'll just have it overnighted.
We did have another 500 windsocks, but we were short on hands to help put it out and pick it up.
I was happy with the hunt. I've put it out and picked it up for zero birds many times.

No doubt it’s always a coin flip with those white pricks, regardless of how you set up. We have a love/hate relationship
