Depends. I can do a lot of things dirt cheap, but there are some things I do that require money. I don't sacrifice a lifestyle to work for it. If I can't live my lifestyle, I am doing it wrong. You aren't guaranteed to live to be 55 or 60 and retire early.

Totally agree with that. IF it allows you to retire in 10 years, I may see a point. If not, there is no way it's worth it.

"If you're too busy to hunt and fish, you're too busy.", Jase Robertson.

Ah, but if it was only that simple. And it would be if I was worth 4 million bucks.

I agree 100%. but the fact of the matter is, it takes $ to make the world go round. You just have to find the balance that fits the lifestyle you want.

Correct, I'm on the road now, but once I put my time in and find a job I can work 40 hrs a week it will be worth it. It may be away from Louisiana, and I'm okay with that. Maybe you and I will someday be neighbors Roger. A lot of work on the Alaska pipelines

I got my arse out of debt, simplified life so it was easier to afford what I wanted to do without working my tail off to do it. Actually have more money and more time.

There is lots to do and see in the country when you stop and settle down many of those places you are seeing now will be out of reach. Make the best of what you have and take time to enjoy where you are from time to time...

Some people give up their time early... Work a lot to be able to retire early. Some do the opposite .A very few are fortunate enough to be born with the best of both worlds. It all comes down to how you view life really. One statement will always remain true. You got to pay to play. Just enjoy what you do and you will be ok

man, I know what you are saying, and I've been through nice places but I mostly work in paper mill towns. Hopefully I get in the nuclear side more. I've been in a nuke for 4 months now and absolutely love it. Too bad it's in New Orleans

I know a lot of people who will disagree with that. I guess it depends what dues you are talking about here. "Playing" doesn't require much sacrifice if you do it right.

It doesn't have to be nice, just make sure you are getting the most of every area you visit. Every place is known for something take the time to experience it...

Make the most of it. Not everyone gets to work in different places.
