who’s lawyers do you think were arguing in DC vs Heller and McDonald vs Chicago?
That is a bit naive to think that no lawyer in the country would defend the Constitution without the existence of the NRA.
My original point still stands, we need good lawyers to defend the Constitution when it is questioned, but we do not need a 24/7 fear-mongering lobbyist machine.
If you think all of the millions of dollars go to lawyers to defend a handful of cases you are the dumbass to use your language.

It’s a bit naive to think that the NRAs lawyers don’t have a specific expertise in those cases as well.

What have you done personally to support the 2nd?
Are you a member of any pro-gun groups?
Have you taken new people shooting?
Do you contact your Representatives?
Have you ever manned a phone bank?

And I will ask you another question: If the NRA is not needed, and not effective, why are they the constant target of attack by anti-gun groups and the largely anti-gun media?

This is interesting
YETI severed ties with the NRA and is now engaging in damage control after a backlash from many of its customers. In early March, YETI refused to place a previously negotiated order from NRA-ILA, citing “recent events” as the reason – a clear reference to the tragedy in Parkland, Florida. YETI then delivered notice to the NRA Foundation that it was terminating a 7-year agreement and demanded that the NRA remove the YETI name and logo from all NRA digital assets, as well as refrain from using any YETI trademarks in future print material. While YETI is trying to spin the story otherwise, those are the facts. While Yeti can choose to run from the NRA, they can’t run from the facts
Breitbart article

Are you kidding me? I have taken the following oath, I re-read it and the constitution multiple times a year to remind myself what I signed up to do. You might think I am speaking in hyperbole, but there are a few posters on TD that know me as that tool.

I, BoatSchoolTiger, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.
I will entertain your questions though:
I do not think I have any current member status of pro-gun groups, I have in the past. Again this is more so on my opposition to lobbying in general.
I have taken many new people shooting. Both in a professionally as a rifle instructor in the Navy and casually with friends and family.
I have volunteered a few Saturdays this year to support someone I know running for Congress.
I have never manned a phone bank.

You're barking up the wrong tree asking him his stance on this. The first time I met him was at a tailgate, that I was visiting, where he called the tailgate a bunch of commies because the position of the Navy flag was flying lower than an LSU flag on the pole.

How would I know any of that?
I’m glad to hear he supports the 2A. I wish all shooters would. I disagree with some of you about the NRA. If you are anti-NRA I strongly encourage you to join another pro-2A organization of your choice, either at the national, state, or local level.
And take a new person shooting! One of the best things you can do.

Being sanctimonious about 2A doesn’t make the apparent bullying by the NRA cool.
If the Breitbart article is true and they can produce an email or documents supporting them their claims, it’s a completely different story.

I've been skeptical of Breitbart since they became a trump machine. I miss the days when Andrew Breitbart was alive and running it

If you're looking for a progun group to join
LSA is local and a good bunch of people making g things happen in Louisiana. They are on Facebook also. They got a bunch of people together the other week to protest all the antigun stuff at the captial and actually did something.
