There is no one line that fits all applications. Here is what I typically use.

Spinnerbait/buzzbait/shallow crankbait/Texas rig worm - 20# Trilene Sensation clear

Deep diving crankbait - 12 # or 15# Trilene flourocarbon

Topwater - 14 or 17# Trilene Sensation clear

Senko - 20# Trilene flouro

Casting frogs/flukes - 65# Spiderwire Ultracast green

Flipping - 80# Spiderwire Ultracast green

Carolina - 65# Spiderwire Ultracast green with 17# Sensation clear leader

Casting for reds in the bays - 50# or 65# Spiderwire

Casting for Speckled trout - 12 or 14# Trilene Sensation

As you can tell, I am mostly a power fisherman and dont mess too much with finesse!!

Good luck

I have been using Berkley Trilene Big Game 12 lb test for as long as I can remember and have no complaints.

Trilene 14# smoothcasting (green). we've caught 30 pound reds on them before. durable too. doesn't fray up like Stren...

how often do you have to respool your line?
I re-spool about this time of the year. Right before I start doing some serious bass/inshore fishing.

Suffix has horrible memory.

Nothing comes close to Maxima, but I can use some of the P-Line products in a pinch.

I become a pretty big fan of Suffix.

On baitcast freshwater 12-20lbs mono.
Baitcast marsh - 30lbs suffix braid
Spin fresh - 10-12lbs suffix braid
Spin marsh - 12-20lbs suffix braid
Spin deeper 30-60lbs suffix braid.
