What is the going cost for firewood by the truckload, cord, etc...? Have a friend wanting to buy some. I'm in Brookhaven, Ms so prices should be similar to Baton Rouge and Hammond area.

I’m in Smithdale not far from you. My sons sell it for their spending money. It’s seasoned oak and they get 150 a half cord and 225 a full. They charge $30 to deliver within 15 miles. We have about 7-8 cords left.

Just curious because I don't live in that area...is it hard to find 1-2 hardwoods to cut down there? I'm not being a jackass, just wondering because here if someone wanted firewood, there are many public land options to cut firewood.

Not many people nowadays want to cut and split firewood. We sell to those that want the convenience of having seasoned and split wood without the work.

Thanks. I actually enjoy cutting and splitting firewood for the winter. A certain satisfaction from your labor providing for your family but I guess convenience is more important for most people.

We heat our house with firewood so I do a lot of splitting. While I enjoy using an ax, maul and wedges as much as the next guy, investing in a log splitter was one of the smartest things I’ve ever done.

Been telling my daughter for years firewood heats you up when you cut it, stack it and burn it. Not sure she fully appreciates that.

I have many hobbies but cutting and splitting fire wood isn’t one of them. I’m not
cutting a tree down
cutting up logs
hauling a splitter or hauling logs to the splitter
Splitting the wood
Stacking the wood on a trailer
Hauling the wood
Unloading the wood
Restacking the wood under the shed

No thanks I’ll pay 200 a cord

That is ridiculously cheap. So he is selling 4x4x8 for 175 bucks?

I cut rounds....roll those rounds onto the trailer.

Roll them off by the splitting area. Cut and stack right there.

Much less work.

Dang, I guess we are getting screwed hugely here in Cenla. You can get delivered for 4x8, but only about 18 inches for like 120. Yall are giving three times the wood for 175.

We have a little bit of wood around here

The price is more for delivery but they don't charge much.

The price stays fairly low because a lot of people cut for side money. Permits are free. You just need a truck, saw, and a trailer.

If you can find a true cord for 175 that’s a deal. That’s a lot of work for not a lot of money. A lot of people sell a face cord which is 1/3 cord and call it a cord.

And they call it "Seasoned" because it's been drying for a couple of weeks (if that).

That was kind of the point of my posts that got downvoted but if you cut it yourself, you know what it was and how long it's been seasoned. And the satisfaction of doing it yourself and not relying on anyone.

Thats a good price these days.

Since I live in the middle of BR lite nowadays, you can buy a crawfish sack with 4 candy arse logs in it for $6
