I'm looking for suggestions.

Who is a good, licensed fireplace remodeling contractor?

Baton Rouge, Zachary, Central area.

Brick. Indoor.

It's a old rent house with a fancy/silly looking fireplace. I want to make it traditional brick.

re·mod·el = change the structure or form of (something, esp. a building, policy, or procedure).

So you're just wanting to change the face of it and don't need the structure of the chimney and everything repaired?

Correct. Just the 'face'. The only structure adjustment might be that it is level with the floor and with the traditional brick, I would like it raised a bit and not floor level.

I don't think there are fireplace-specific licenses

My buddy will probably be able to help. He does good work. He might also be backed up, but give him a call. Works in and around BR

I would like for them to know what they are doing. Fireplaces can be tricky and I've seen & heard a few horror stories when it come to fireplaces.

Licensed and Insured...meaning they are legit. It's a expression.

the only license there is, is a home improvements license. That's anything under 75k or something. Then to do over that, they basically need to get their GC license. Home improvement license doesn't mean shite.

So you just want a new face put on it? That isn't hard at all. Hell, I've seen them do that on the Renovation Realities TV show, and they are all idiots

okay...then. Forget the 'license' part. I just want them to have done a few fireplaces before.
