this should be understood. Why would you show a friend a spot and not expect them to fish it without you there?

That's not the part that bothers me. It's more bringing other people back there.

eta: and I don't know...respect I guess? I just wouldn't do it.

At what point does a dumbass become an a-hole? Shouldn't people be responsible for their actions? You can't expect everyone to know how to proceed in every situation, but at some point you can't make excuses for them. If you're going to be on the water, sharing it with other people, you should have a pretty good idea how to act and what to do.

If you wouldn't want someone doing it to you, don't do it to anyone else... it's really that simple.

I'm in my 40s and been fishing all my life, and have never been in a situation where I wanted to cuss somebody else that was out trying to enjoy a day of fishing. And don't even see myself ever being in that position. My fishing days are too important to me to spend my time out there worrying about what other people are doing. Maybe I am doing it wrong.

i don't disagree with you, I'm just saying not everybody is an a-hole out there. Outdoorsmen can be the worst "eat our own" group around. All I am saying is have some patience. Something similar happened to me out on the lake this saturday. It was Father's Day weekend and alot of boats were out on the water. I simply moved on bc we were drinking beer listening to music and fishing a bit. Wasn't worth the hassle...

I would imagine most on here do that very thing most of the time. I think they just get tired of turning the other cheek. Don't underestimate the number of insufferable sumbitches there are out there.

And I agree about the "eat our own", there are plenty of shortsighted sportsman out there.

I always, always turn the other cheek. I don't mind it so much just because if you fish enough, it's something you have to get used to. Not to mention I grew up fishing Lake P, and that place will test your patience more than the worst woman in the world. In my life I've never really went off on somebody when I'm out fishing, because I think I'm really lucky to be out there in the first place.

The only time it really bothers me is when it's people I know, because in my head I'm all like, "come on dude, you should know better."

And i think this problem would never have happened if everyone would get the BP money they deserve, and buy dual power poles.

Y'all just need to realize that fishing is th cool thing to do now, and with all the new fisherman, space is pretty limited everywhere in LA. Sure it's bullshite when someone fishes on top of you, but lulz at anyone who thinks any spot they fish is "their spot". No place is safe these days.

Somehow, kayakers are to blame for all of this.

Jackasses.
