After the hunt and I’ve showered and put my camp clothes on, I like to sit on the porch on a cool fall evening/night sipping a good single malt scotch smelling a big pot of goodness on the stove while waiting on maybe the rice to cook or to just wind down.

I like a little music and these are a couple I enjoy.

With Dolly Parton

Or if at the duck camp and the rice is most certainly for a big gumbo maybe this one.

Fever on the Bayou

Maybe if I’m sitting at a friends Menard, Texas camp, just west of The Hill country.

Waiting on a Train

Other are Towns Van Zandt, Dale Watson, Junior Brown, Dwight Yokum

These are some of the favorite times of my life. Hope you enjoy the above and tell me what you listen to or how you spend your evening after the hunt.

I'm a fan of Whitey Morgan, Waylon, Sturgill, and Townes. I don't listen to too much country.

Also, I have a great love for John Denver.

CCR, Bob Seager, The Eagles, Johnny Cash.....really anything country before the 2000’s or rock before the 90’s.

There’s nothing wrong with the Eagles. They are nowhere near the best but nowhere near the worst.
