Same guy sold me a Colt Gold Cup National Match Series 80 for $500. Was a pretty good weekend for me.

You can find some good deals but you have to be patient. I picked up a Smith and Wesson 29-3 Lee Horton 3” right before Covid started for a little over 1K. Gun is worth $1600 easily.

I knew a guy constantly scouring "no reserve" discounts on that site before he passed away. He was a FFL, so he would know when an auction yielded a steep discount or not.

I used to use gunbroker a good bit a few years back, and auctionarms (now gunauction) before that. Gunsamerica too.

I did it then, because you used to not have to deal with taxes and other fees, other than shipping and transfer. For used guns, it was like the national pawn shop, and you could almost always
a) find anything
b) find it at a lower overall cost than local

I had a few sellers saved; they were importers and used it as their storefront. Got some nice deals on CZs and other pistols. My favorite is gone- CDISales. Seller passed, and his warehouse burned down.

At this point, I think the bargain phase is over, every shop is tapped into them and they can set their price to match. It still remains an option to find "anything", but even then- if it's a used hard-to-find gun, you're probably better served checking forum "want to sell" listings, for those items.

One seller I still check (a group of 4 or so, actually), is something called "Gunbusters". These guys apparently get the police trade-ins that are to be destroyed. They strip everything off the frame or receiver, and sell it as a parts kit. If you have a particular old gun and find that model, it's not a bad deal to get a kit as backup. It's usually every spring, pin, screw, etc, as well as the barrels and slides. Sometimes, it's cheaper than buying just a new extractor, if you find the right deal.

Make sure you understand the fees or you will be surprised at checkout.

Look at the seller reviews. I have been buying off GB for over 10 years and never had any issues.

This is correct. I've bought dozens of guns with no issues

This 100%!

Just make sure you know if they charge credit card fees, what their shipping costs are and if there are any other hidden fees associated with the purchase.

Some of the prices are good until you add the fees, shipping and FFL transfer cost. At that point, it can be the same price or less to purchase local. Downside of local shopping is usually inventory.

Overall, I have not had issues with GB.
