Elie Coast 120 XE Sit-On-Top Kayak

Anyone got any experience in one of these? Been in the market for a fishing kayak for awhile now and recently came across some gift cards to REI. Had my mind set on an Ascend, but it's kinda hard to pass up free cashe... any reviews would be greatly appreciated.

Unlikely you'll find much on here about those kayaks. I would lean ascend for the seat alone and then use your REI money on a nice paddle, inflatable pfd, anchor trolley, etc...

Summary - seat is more comfortable than you think, it's super light, and tracks really well. Not stable enough to stand in.

They're owned by the same parent company apparently.
ETA: Speaking of Pelican, they're coming out with a new kayak that looks to be on par with the entry-level removable seat fishing kayaks like Ascend, etc... It's called the Catch 120 is is reportedly stable enough to stand in. I read somewhere that MSRP should be around $750.

These make me want to sell my Emotion. I love errything about it but the seat.

According to the video review, the seat is actually pretty comfortable. It's not the camp-chair like seat, but I bet its more comfortable than most molded in seats.
