Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the smurf flex was for low voltage only. Or is that in commercial applications only?

I know I can easily deal with the color, but the way he did the stuff on the brick is awful. He didn't run it up close to the ceiling. He had the power running off the side and the speaker wires exposed dropping straight down. He cut a hole in the cabinet I built to put an electrical box sticking up out the top when it could have stayed hidden inside the cabinet. My mom told me it was blue, and I was like you can just paint it. Then I saw the pictures and was furious.

I could be mistaken but I believe it was introduced as a flex option for wood frame commercial construction in the early 80's

you could have ordered the patio panels pre-wired and braced for ceiling fans...would have saved that headache...not an expensive option either...

There is not one thing that I can see in that picture that I woukd accept as OK.
Was this an actual electrician or some mexican from the home depot lot?

I am the most non-confrontational person ever and I would have blown a gasket it I saw that!

This is why I do all my work myself. And because I'm poor.
