You can typically get a new carb from eBay for $30-ish. If you’re not using it commercially that blower isn’t close to done.

Then start using Seafoam and it’ll be a long time before you have carb issues. That stuff is magic and a necessity for 2-strokes that get used sporadically. I’ve got Stihl chainsaws and a blower that might go 6 months between uses and they crank right up every time. Ethanol free gas and Seafoam.

Good points. Will look into that as well. What mix do you use in the gas can?

Electric vs Gas Leaf Blower

I have an electric one....yes the long extension cord can be a pain sometimes but overall I prefer the electric one....plug in and go

I have four blowers:
1.) Kobalt 40V with turbo battery powered
2.) Dewalt 60V battery powered
3.) Gas Schroder Backpack Blower
4.) Toro electric corded

I rock the Schroder (affordable on Amazon) all Fall and Winter, and it's needed on my .75 acres of Ozark hardwoods. It's reliable and very powerful. But then I barely pick it up again because I love that Kobalt so much. I'll clean off the driveway with the Schroder every so often just to give it some love.

The Kobalt holds a charge well, has plenty of power, and is light enough that my kids can use it. It will move some leaves, but heavy piles start to take extra time.

The Dewalt sucks, their batteries consistently fail and I've gotten sick of replacing them.

The Toro is great and has been kicking for 12 years, I just rarely use it due to the cord.

I think the can says 2 oz per gallon for two-stroke pre mix, 1 oz for straight gas. You can go stronger for a clean-out run, which is what I'd do if yours is running but inconsistently. I use my stuff infrequently and starting them used to be a 5-10 minute ritual if it worked at all. Now it's 1-2 pulls and they start right up, even after a few months of sitting.

For a leaf blower, electric all day every day.

I have the kobalt one and it is fricking incredible and also super convenient. 1 battery does the whole yard front and back (almost). Also damn good to immediately get my garage cleaned out ALl the time any time.

Click a button, and it's on. Hell, i've used it to get dog hair out of the house etc.

It is only slightly less powerful than my husqvarna one that shite the bed after 4 years. No maintenance, no gas, no oil, no messes. Just works.

Huge advocate of electric leaf blowers specifically, but it needs to run off of a battery.

Last year I bought an echo PB-9010..It's a beast at 79cc...the power of a small dirt bike on your back 1110cfm and 220mph nozzle speed.

It's beast!

Electric is great for small yards once a week and if you don’t want to deal with gas. If you have a medium or large yard just use the pre mixed gas. A leaf blower will run like an hour on a tank of gas and blowing a medium sized yard takes like 15 mins. One quart of pre mixed gas at like $8 will last you like a year. That stuff in any decent brand blower: Stihl, echo, husky, etc. and they’ll start on 1-2 pulls for many years and last.

I went through electric stuff and it’s nice to just push a button and go, but I’ve gotten over that and prefer the power, run time, and build quality of gas.

The secret,I guess,is to always put fuel stabilizer in the gas.

May have worked! Did some research and ended up buying Star Tron. That Sea Foam looks like an amazing product as well.

Anyway, read comments on the forums and added the Star Tron as directed and let it sit for two days. Started right up. Ran it for 15 minutes. Cut off. Started again 3 separate times, which it didn't use to do. Might not be the complete answer, but appears to have cleaned out the residue in the carburetor. So for now will monitor it, but now have solid input on if I have to buy something else later. Watched a dude on YouTube replace the carburetor in 15 minutes. Cost of a kit was $17, so that could be an option later as well.

Thank you to the OB for all the input!
