High powered spring piston airguns are loud

I've had a Daisy spring piston airgun that is not loud and that thing packs some punch downrange. My dad has one he got to control the frogs at a pond behind their house in michigan, but due to noise that thing makes, we never got to use it. Don't remember the brand but we got it from Gander Mountain. Sounded like a .22.

The noise should factor into your decision.

The nitrogen piston rifles are said to be 70% quieter than spring piston rifles.
I don't have one but really want one.

I read this thread at work today and it got me thinking about my old Benjamin. A few years ago, I picked it up from my parents house, had it resealed and have only shot if a few times since. Well, I took it out behind my house, threw a old plastic coke bottle in the canal and let it float away while I took shots at it. I got that gun for Christmas in 6th grade, I only remember sighting it in the original time, and I am still deadly with that thing from at least 35-40 yards. I found myself digging in the trash for more shite to shoot because I kept sinking stuff so fast. Many of squirrels and robins (i know, i know, they're illegal) have been slayed by that gun. Good to know it still has it.

I have one very similar to this, only a few years older, and it is a badass gun. Doves around the house don't have a chance!

The muzzle velocity of that Gamo is on the cusp of the sound barrier. It would be interesting to shoot that gun with different weight pellets. You might prefer an extra heavy pellet so that it shoots subsonic.

I shoot lead pellets mostly, because the PBA sound like a 22 rifle, even with the silencer haha

Get a Benjamin. You won't regret it.

I have one of those also, older and in need of repair, but it was my small game hunting gun when I was young. Love my Benjamin, but my GAMO will outshoot any Benjamin, hands down.

Probably so, but I'm just partial to the pellet gun I got 25 years ago that will still drop a bird at 35 yards as if I sighted it just in yesterday.

Funny thing about that is that my Benjamin needed the seals replaced, and I googled it and found only a few places in the country that would do it. Luckily, one of them was on Hooper road, only 5 or so miles from my parents house. Got the seals replaced and it shoots like it did when I was 11 years old.

I must be the only one here who would be given a benjamin and still go out and buy a gamo so I'll have something I actually like

I think Inspector37 would agree with ya, like I said, I'm just partial to my Benjamin because I grew up slaughtering squirrels and robins with mine. Its all good!

I grew up with gamo's

It was awesome being the only kid around who didn't have to pump his pellet gun 15 times to kill a squirrel.

I also had a scope, which may be why I'm not the hottest shot on the block with open sights.

Many a squirrels have died at the hands of me and my 10 pumped Benjamin with Silver Jet pellets...

The generic Benjamin pellets in the can were a death sentence too.
