tons of them here in arkansas, and they're built here. arkansas seems to be the mecca for 15-16' metal boats. edge (waco) is building a nice boat for sure, as well as HAVOC, and AMBUSH (legend craft). as far as popularity and performance, those are the big 3, at least here. if nothing else, id look at all 3 and compare features, price, what you like and don't like, etc. smallish metal boats have come a long way in the last 10 years

ill also say, unless you're limited in hp for legal reasons per where you fish, and especially going the new 4 stroke route, id get the biggest hp you can afford.

This boat is solely for fishing lacasine and burns and other shallow marshes. 25hp is my limit

ETA.
I'm fully aware the new 4 strokes are basically turds. Lol.

But rules are rules

I am not familiar with them but looking at their website makes me ask wtf do all the jon boat manufacturers put so much decking on the nose of the boat?

I would love to see an 18 or 20 jon that a guy could hunt out of most of it instead of having the front 1/3 or more taken by a deck.

I believe most people like that. I've added quite a bit of additional deck for people for fishing platforms.

I have a fishing boat to fish out of. I want to replace my jon with a bigger, newer one but can't find one with floor space I want. Seriously, 18-20 of boat and 12 feet of floor space to hunt out of doesn't cut it.

At least they could allow a customization option.

basically, yes, however, the new tohatsu 4 strokes, both the 25, and the 40/50 (same motor less restrictor plate) are actually very nice, and a far cry from what most folks have known 4 strokes as. (big, heavy, slow turds) actually quite the opposite. no question that if i was faced with a new motor in those size ranges thats what it would be. not even close margin with any others

you may want to take a look at a HAVOC Adventure series, as it may be exactly what you're looking for. this is a 656, but I'm quite sure they would make you one bigger if you so desired. the one picture is the same boat with a removable bench seat/storage. there is also a removable fishing deck that is optional.

The havoc is a little more geared toward hunting than fishing but it's a super nice boat. I just purchased the edge 650.....16/50 with the full aluminum elite trailer... they are delivering the boat to lake area marine Tuesday for the tohatsu 25 with power trim and tilt with the electric start.

I'm super pumped and can't wait

This is a DBST and not the Adventure series. I have the DBST 1656 and love it. In our crew we have 2 Havoc's, one DBST and one MST, and 2 Edge 650's. They are all nice boats and get the job done.

Weld quality and craftsmanship of the EDGE boats leave a lot to be desired. Id go with a Havoc if I had the choice to make. Plus Havoc options packages are 5 to 1 to what EDGE or Ambush has to offer. Second choice would be the new Ambush series(forget the name) and 3rd out of those 3 would be an EDGE.

assuming you're talking about my pics, true, it is a dbst, with the adventure series front. thats all i was really talking about, is the open front as that guy was describing that he wanted. really the only difference is the step transom vs a regular transom
