I agree, the vast majority of folks are getting ready to go shoot a whitetail at 19 yards with its head under a feeder. I was just sharing for some data points to consider with range forgiveness and speed. It’s really about shooting whatever gives you the most confidence to place an arrow at whatever your decided distance is, it’s a lot of personal preference.
I’m probably going to have one or two mechanicals in my quiver in Montana as well, wind drift with fixed blades is real and very hard to guess at. It would be very cool to see some kind of study on that, the horizontal movement I think would shock people.

Paper tuning can be funny. I have had some tune up close and it carries, some don't. Keep in mind, paper tuning takes place during the most unstable part of an arrows flight. The closest I paper tune is 7 yards.

So wait a minute. There is a podcast where dudes blab about bow hunting, and people actually listen to it and are invested in what they are saying? That's hilarious

I hear you, but Dudley is probably the most knowledgeable person in the history of archery. If you hunt out West, his information is tremendous.
It does make me wonder how I was ever able to kill all those deer with a pendulum and cheap arrows. Lol.
