Nah, typically i hunt bayou black. But today i hunted a public lake. Had a ton of ducks. I don’t suspect there will be there very long, though.

Pearl River WMA; two 12 yr old boys killed one pintail, a BW teal, a ring neck and a grey duck....two coots to boot as well! Two adults could have limited on greys and teal but looks to be a not so promising opening day next week.

It might be total anarchy out there this year. Aren't they trying to zone out the "private parts".

Didn’t see much over the weekend. A lot more shooting this morning than yesterday. Most of it sounded like it was on N side of mechant in Jug/Paigie area. Had more birds before this last storm. Didn’t go to lease on coast.

Not to get sidetracked from the topic at hand, but these duck leases down south, are they fairly expensive? I live most of my time far away from where I grew up near Catahoula Lake and I rarely get to to hunt more than once a year and I want to look into eventually joining a lease down south, but I have a feeling they are going to be very pricey.

If this year is like last, there might be some available. We pay $6/acre for one, the other is 0,35/acre but only huntable about 20 days a season due to no water.

Hell it’s total anarchy on a normal year.. If I didn’t hunt I would just go sit in the parking lot and watch the show.

Thanks for the info. Its a little late for this year obviously, but in the hopefully not so distant future I need to get on one. And to the post above, yes but that just comes with the territory I suppose.

My daughter killed 5 BW and 1 mott Saturday AM in Delacroix. Had fair amount of ducks, but nothing to get real excited about. Lease partner took kids Sunday and scratched, but saw "plenty" flocks high and flying South. Water was high Saturday and he said it was crazy high Sunday.
