Drove down hwy27 to cameron prarie nwr. prob saw 10,000 plus ducks. the flights of teal were insane. groups of 200+ were constantly streaming in from the west. 90% teal but also saw plenty of mallards, greys, spoonies, and widgeon. in johnson bayou plenty of teal and greys wt some pintail and widgeon mixed in. should be a great opening weekend. heres a few pics i took.

The anticipation when the regular duck season is near is one of the best feelings ever

Yeah, it looked about the same across the river/lake. Fast three man limit Saturday and good quality hunt on Sunday.

We rarely get skunked on either side of the river/lake. Just watch out for the "dusky" ducks in Texas. Several hunters got popped last weekend for not being able to tell the difference.

Damnit. Way it looks right now, we're going to be hunting over dry rice.

Might do fine. They haven't been shot at yet. They were all up north until the last few weeks

Man I'm getting real excited. After not having a blind for the past two opening days I'm ready to lay the lumber.
