"Reality"

How is it outdoors related? It is about Christianity and television. The OP is clearly about television and religion.
Yeah, well it kind of crosses into three or four bards. It was my understanding that religion was off limits on the poli board for a while. DD is an outdoor topic, but actually fits on the TV board more than any, I would guess.

Duck Dynasty is about as 'reality' as Trailer Park Boys or The Office.
People who's panties are in a bunch over the format need to relax. Not everything fits in your square holes.

Hence the quotation marks. Ricky shoots at uncollared dogs, which upsets Julian. Thus, TPB is OB-approved.

So can a redneck not be cultured? I enjoy fine wines and food. I have an impressive art collection in one of my homes and I will bet that I am as cultured or more so than anyone on this board. However, I feel most comfortable in my redneck persona. My favorite activities are hunting, fishing, drinking, and mudding. (fighting used to be in there) Does that make me lowbrow. Does it make me less intellect because I have a thick southern accent and talk "redneck"? I don't think so. These shows do nothing to embarass the south. The only people laughing at them are insecure yuppy f$%ks that think they are inherently better than everyone else.
Like my PawPaw used to say,"Don't let the clothes fool ya' bo!".

Interesting,,, at several conventions and business meetings with people from all over the USA,, it's amazing how many want to wait to go out until either after it's over or be back in their room to watch that show that is "embarrassing" our state.
Yea, I've actually had the same experience a few times. The people(one from Sacramento, and the other from Tuscon) I talked to definitely watched it. It wasn't for it's religion, moreso about how these dumb rednecks are.

Maybe I spend too much time on the poli board, but Redneck is used exclusively over there to describe anyone who isn't "progressive."
There are people who share conservative views all over the country, some enjoy outdoor activity etc...who would fit into the "redneck" stereotype. I've generally learned to hate the term since it's misused so much and mainly by progressives who use it to disparage someone who they disagree with.
I'd guess most of these "bumpkins" are comfortable being who they are. It's the progressive assholes who aren't comfortable with them. That's their problem.

Exactly, I have no issue with being called a redneck, but I am secure with who I am. I'll wear my camo at socially inappropriate times and not GAF. I think they secretly envy us.

Fishing gear is appropriate office attire here whether you are cleaning the office or you own the building. It would drive some of these metros crazy.
