It's hard to take a survival show serious when you have camera and sound men on site. There's value in them though if you pick up a tip here or there.

I'm going to hike god knows how far up a mountain, alone, for water and then carry a few twigs for fire to give me a mental edge over the night!
I will be a testosterone-drive Type A drama queen while confessing that I actually don't have a ton of survival experience because I was always so well equipped in the military.
Cody's decision to not wear shoes is stupid, but he at least provides some common-sense, no bullshite, logical survival strategies.
Cody and Dave were at least likable as a pair, the new guy just doesn't have any chemistry with Cody. I'd love to drop the Spec Ops guy into that one Survivorman episode where Les literally gets stalked by a Jaguar alone in the rainforest. I bet the military guy would try to hunt the damn thing and get eaten.
