Doubled Up Yesterday- 2 Different Species, One Cast, One Crankbait (w/pics)

Spotted Bass and a Shoal Bass both wanted it. Water was super clear, saw them both charge the bait. Hooked one, but the other fish still was after it. I didn't land it immediately, watching the second fish and it hit the bait that was hanging out of the mouth of the first fish.
I've done it once before, but I didn't have a camera then.
Bonus pic is a 4 lbs Shoal Bass I caught Tuesday, which the state record (GA) is 8 lbs, so...that's like an 11 pound large mouth in my book.

Upvote even though I've never heard of a shoal bass.
I've only doubled once on Caddo Lake on a chrome rattle trap while the bass were schooling.

In GA, they're only in 2 rivers. Luckily, one is 10 minutes and the other is 40 minutes away. Kinda like a smallmouth and pretty aggressive. They fight really hard for their size. They hang in the eddies of shoals, ambushing stuff in the swift water.

When I hear shoal bass, I’m thinking you live in north Georgia.
Amirite?

They do. But I feel like they’re a game fish, so I catch and release. If I want food, I’ll keep largemouths and spots.

Sweet hook up. Used to fish school largemouths here with a clear tiny torpedo with a short line tied behind with a beetle spin jig attached. Weren't very big but is a blast to catch. Nice speakers by the way.

Always fun to have some tunes playing while cruising on the river. I need to do some updating though, no aux cord or Bluetooth on my radio.

I have seen that video before. One thing, is that guy needs a scale. His estimating is way off. I got one last year and I learned my 3 pounders were 2 pounders, my 5's were 4's.
I did one trip on the Flint down Yellowjacket shoals fishing for shoal bass. Caught about 20, but the river thru there was damn tough.
