Dog starting to become aggressive out of nowhere

My 4yr old lab is becoming aggressive and biting out of nowhere. It is happening to both strangers and people he knows. Had him at the vet, he has a clean bill of health. Was very docile and a big baby since a pup and still is with most people. Starting to get desperate and contemplating getting rid of him. Only thing we can think is he may have a tumor. Anyone have any suggestions or similar experiences.

let him bite someone and beat him over the head with a baseball bat... see if he does it again after that.

Take him to the vet and have a full work up done. Something is likely wrong with him. If that isn't it I would start discipline.

It is either physical or emotional. Didn't have anything go on with him lately?
I'd whip his arse, but that is just me

He is well disciplined, he is my hunting dog. He will be being petted, sitting there being fine then wham starts growling and bites.

Does he have nuts?
The reason I'm asking, is because my BMC got real aggressive. I had no idea what was his problem, almost cooted him. Then I found out the neighbors behind me had a dog in heat. It stopped very shortly.

No he is clipped. The way some of them have gone down makes me thinks its a tumor.

Its not that, dog knows exactly who the boss is.

I would say the only thing possible that is not listed is somebody messing with him when you can't see. I'm not sure of your situation but people can mess up dogs by hitting kicking bashing the fence etc.

Send him to the Cootkilla Academy of Bad dogs

I know this is shunned upon but if he snaps at someone again either beat the crap out of him or scold and growl at him until he is thoroughly scared. Sounds barbaric but it works.

An example. The night before a hunt he slept at the foot of my lil bros bed with him and his gf. Next morning walking back to the truck lil bro stops to piss. When he gets to the truck dog starts barking and lunging at him like he didn't know who he was. 5 min later he is fine and wanting to be petted.

Same thing when he is being petted, he will go to the kid and lay there being petted then out of no where bites.

It's hard to do but, save yourself from a real problem and put him down. You will be helping him.
