How do you like it?

I’m thinking about ditching the ATV.

I don’t own one but doing alot of research on them as I hunt alot of public land from MO to MS. So many different rules on ATVs but other than USFS land, you can bring up to a 750w bike anywhere.

Down to choosing between Bakcou Mule and Rambo Bushwacker. Add a trailer to one and it will be a game changer on getting to spots quicker with gear and getting game out.

MS just passed a rule to allow them on WMA’s. I’ve been looking at them for the last few yrs, primarily the Radrover. But the Bakcou has gotten my attention. It’s a hefty price to pay but I’ve ridden my regular bike in and out hundreds of times and the thought of having the help of the ebike and not sweating my arse off has me ready to shell out the $$.

I feel same way; was looking at trading in my UTV for a 4wheeler and figure the ebike will cost less and can use for way more. A no brainer. Check out the Rambos...they also give a veteran discount.

Like y'all I studied these things for years , but I couldn't see paying that much for one. Then I realized that all the big name ebike dealers do is order them from china and re-brand them. So I bought 4 from China and have been very pleased. They are 48v 750 watt. I deer hunted and turkey hunted off of it last yr and I should have bought one a long time ago. I am gonna sell two of them. Brand new , haven't been rode. They are hub drive. I bought these because you can rebuild one bike twice and still have less than what you have in a brand name.

They are unbranded. I would sell two for 2400.00 or split them for 1300.00 each. Every buddy that has rode mine has been impressed. You can either just use the throttle, pedal, or pedal assist. Email me if ya interested nwtfbama@gmail.com

I have friend who has one and it is unbeleivable around town....I would buy one in a second but they are not allowed on public land in Washington State....they are considered a vehicle. This is the damndest place I ever encountered...millions of acres of land owned by the people of the United States and most of it is either off limits to access of any kind or, if hunting is allowed, there is no place to leave a vehicle OR the parking area is several miles from the actual hunting area. There ain't no way in the world that folks on the east coast, especially the SE, would tolerate it. Don't even get me started on boat ramps....they are 30 miles apart and most are merely a less steep bank with a road within a mile or so....beats all I ever slept with. They call the latter "unimproved" but in the SE they'd be called "not even remotely close to a boat ramp".

I don’t have any issue with anyone using them when legal but I definitely am not a fan. I bike in a lot of places, Ebikes are basically motorcycles and guys that ride motorcycles are idiots on public land. I know they are not that powerful but I’d rather hard to get to areas stay that way. Ebikes will allow anyone with some money to reach almost anywhere. Riding a bike in the dark to your spot 1-2 miles back sucks, I like it that way because it allows me to get away.

But ebikes are sweet and the future of urban travel I think. It makes 3-10 mile commutes very easy.

Some people choose to spend money on scopes, certain guns, binoculars, or the latest bows. If someone chooses to spend their money on a bike, it’s no different. Should we all be made to use the exact same equipment because someone can’t afford something?

In MS public lands, no motorized vehicles are allowed past gated roads,,except Ebikes now. Some of these gated roads are a few miles long. I think it will allow people to spread out a bit and will allow some older folks a chance to go further than they normally would.

Ha. Look I said if it’s legal that’s fine. But comparing a scope to an ebike is not on the same scale. That’s like comparing a high end fishing rod to a high end boat. A scope might help your range by 200 yards when a ebike can help you with miles and miles.

I like the idea of some land being very difficult to get to. It keeps it wild. If we allow easy access by humans every where, it will change things drastically. People like to think that only those that follow the law will use them, people will take any advantage they can and run the hell out of game with them if it’s allowed.

Damn baw.

I’ll look at them occasionally but most places I hunt they wouldn’t work except old forest roads primarily. I don’t have a 4 wheeler and would probably buy that before a bike.

Went to national forest Saturday and there are so many trees down from Laura a bike there now would be a PIA.

Anyone have good luck with a fat tire bike without e-power?

I’m also looking at the RadRover.

Ot seems like there’s only a few companies that make the components.

I’m leaning towards the Bakcou Flatlander right now. Having watched the Radrover sight for probably a year or so, their accessories are hardly ever in stock. The Flatlander is a little more expensive but it comes with the accessories I would want.

the problem in Washington is that any where there could be game, on federal land or not, is almost entirely controlled by the state DNR and they won't allow it. So you could ride through miles and miles of wasteland where nothing can live but approach anything that can support life and the state has it under control. There are some exceptions but very few. There is 120 plus miles or navigable waterway within an hour in either direction from my house. Of that 120 miles 20 would be unsuitable for hunting due to it running through towns but 100 miles of that river is suitable for hunting and holds a staggering number of waterfowl in the fall and winter. Of that 100 miles only about 5 miles are open to hunting. ALl federal land. All in the middle of nowhere. Off limits to waterfowlers. It is so bad that you can't even hunt PRIVATE LAND in most of this area. If you own the land you can hunt anyting in season of course...the problem is that the season never opens on your land as it is classified as a "special management unit" for about a half a mile from the center of the river in both directions. So you can hunt ducks just in the desert if you want....

I have one and love it for scouting. Been using it all summer on public land. Great exercise as well. I had plans to use it for hunting but Laura has put everything on hold.
I just have to figure out how i'm going to carry the stand, bow, etc. on it.
