Ill probably end up getting the trusty old white and regret it

Regretting the color of an ice chest is on par with regretting the color of your iphone case or the camo pattern on your hunting gloves. Sounds like something I'd hear from my 13 yr old daughter.

No, my coolers have No Colors

Same here. Old white one works great. Thought about Tan, but wasn't picky and took what colorless options were left.

Thanks for that

My concern is that the white will get all scuffed and stained easily vs the other light colors or darkest ones

10-4. I wasn't aware folks worry about stains on the outside of an ice chest.

don't know. bought an igloo and used the spare $350 on beer.

Amen brother! I have informed anyone who could care enough about me to intervene should I lose my mind (some of them have probably come close a few times) that a sure sign that I have gone around the bend is when they see me with a Yeti.

I have igloo marine coolers that are 30 years old and still working. I have replaced the hinges but I doubt I paid $20 for the cooler itself.

I bought a boat from a dude just after I returned to the United States. I had left the country prior to the Yeti craze. The boat had a Yeti on it when I looked at it...big one. I asked old bot if he wanted to get rid of the cooler, He said yes, he'd take $50 for it. I told him I wasn't interested LOL....I couldn't imagine paying $50 for a NEW cooler let alone a used one and told him so. He said "but its bear proof"...to which I replied "its working like a charm...there ain't been a bear in this part of south Florida in years"...he failed to appreciate the humor. Even though I am no aware of the vast superiority of the Yeti I am still very much impressed with its ability to ward off bears....of course 99% of them are used in places where bears seldom if ever make a nuisance of themselves...very few bears on the deck of an offshore boat, for example, however, if you did find one there you would most definitely want all of the bear repellant you could get! I would bet though, having seen the ingenuity of even small black bears, that the claim is about as overblown as is the price of the Yeti....

I put grey hydro-turf on the top of my dark green yeti. now I can sit on it in the sun or stand on it and not burn my feet. just get the hydroturf that has the sticky on it already. ez-peazy.

but the question is does it still repel bears????

I bet that situation attracts bears instead of repelling them! I would, however, tolerate the occasional bear incursion to spend some time getting to know those 2 better...a bear ain't nothing compared to the shite my wife would pull though....

No shite...I do not care if that picture was taken in medieval Europe I appreciate you including it here today for the pleasure of the viewing audience....and, if you have any others, please share them also in the interest of scientific research into the effects of the sun on coolers other than white ones....

I built a dry storage / cooler out of 2 inch EXP Foam and poor man fiberglassed it. It is about the size of my 120 qt igloo and weighs about half as much. I will be the first to admit it ain't the prettiest thing but it is square and has been shipped full of ducks and fish several times and it holds ice for weeks. It will take a TON of abuse. and I have all of about $40 in it.

I would be if I paid that much for one...I would back hand my old lady if she spilled a beer on the thing...then she'd whup my arse...she is mean that way....just one more reason not own one that costs that much. I wouldn't care if someone took a dump on my old igloos...they have been vomited in before LOL...hose it off and get on with life...but if I had a $300 cooler that was scratched it'd piss me off every time I noticed it....

We all know yeti is overpriced as frick

But the real question is If you had a $250 Yeti gift card
And a 30% off coupon to get the haul for $280.00 ($30.00) after gift card. Only a fool wouldn’t buy a $400 yeti haul for 30.00 and just sit on the gift card.

So I was asking for advice on if the darker colored coolers get hot as shite.

I got a tan one and I think it probably gets as hot as a white one but honestly, I really don't sit on it so I can't accurately comment. It stays in the back of my truck all the time.

I hear ya. I want to use it to sit on In the boat or if brought to the beach or something. I like the colored ones like the navy or teal one but I assume they would be hot.
Will likely order the white

I have a discontinued purple and gold yeti and it doesn’t keep ice as long as a white one will. They make a charcoal color, there’s no way that one keeps as long as a white one. Not sure about the warmth on butt cheeks, I would assume it is warmer to the touch tho.
