We duck hunted it one time year ago and they had planted a ton of oaks, granted in rows but still. If I recall correctly it was a bow only area? Those trees are probably starting to produce bybnow or soon.

I love Sherburne for Turkeys and squirrels....but deer hunting....I would go on draw only hunts.

I don't hunt anywhere public except the Midwest and west. I was just curious if anyone hunted out there because the GW said it was lightly used.

Ahh I think you are correct, south farm. It's the one they do draw hunts for ducks on.

I believe there is also a north farm but there is no hunting, wanted to make sure it had changed or something.

I hunted there one day on the edge of a food plot. They have food plots and box stands for the youth lotto hunts. About 7am I see something running through the woods and get excited. Turns out it’s a dog, it points right on side of the plot. Ole boy walks up, flushes a woodcock and blasts it. This takes place within 30 yards of me. I climb down and say F south farm. Good luck.

That’s for duck hunting. You can deer hunt before duck season up until youth weekend and then after duck season. As said above, it gets a lot of woodcock hunters and squirrel hunters. But there are deer out there

ETA: Meant to say youth deer weekend

Duck ends the same time deer does. Unless it has a different season dates for there.

Did all those oaks they plant Starr producing yet?

Duck season doesn’t end till after the special season at the end of the year

I Like what you did there. And I agree. I should have said that no one can hunt at south farm at all. Don’t ruin it.

The wooded areas on the east side are available for bow hunting all season. The rest of it is open except during big duck season or special lottery deer hunts. Bow season lasts until February 15 in that area so there is a few weeks after duck season. Ive hunted it a handful of times the last few years. Seen some sign and deer scouting but none from the stand.
