I have had good luck seeing deer on mid day hunts during the full moon but I have never killed a mature buck on a mid day hunt. So there you go.

Most of the mature deer I have seen killed, were killed midday

I understand the point you're making - and most of the time I agree, but to truly prove it you need to show that you aren't getting pictures during the mid day on small/new moons.

I hunt when I can hunt. PErsonally, I just can't let myself sleep in and miss the early morning. The full moon is what I use to convince myself to sit in the stand longer. I'll also use the full moon as an excuse to get in the stand earlier in the evening. When the deer are rutting you need to be in the stand as much as possible. If a doe is hot, the buck is going to be on her, regardless what the moon is doing.

Well we don't get near as many midday pics of deer moving/feeding during small moons. They usually feed between 6-8am and 3-6pm during those times.

Which is a good thing. Myself and my dad have killed nice deer right at dawn, regardless of moon phase. A lot of times, you will catch bucks on the way to their bedding areas right at daylight when they have been moving all night. And they cant see as well during that time, because their eyes are still adjusting to light. (opposite of humans whose eyes adjust to darkness more slowly)

I killed an 8 point yesterday at noon making a rub. I hunted from daylight until 10 and only saw 2 deer. From 10-12 saw 8

New technique for next hunting season-

Im gonna fence in a few heffers out back of the camp.
- If the heffers are moving, I hunt.
- If the heffers ain't moving, I drink.

Cant be more spot on. I always check the cow pastures on the way in. If they are up and grazing....deer will be on the move.
