ETA: At least 24" deep and sweeping 90s. You might also need sch 80 conduit/straps for them to put on the pole. Just dump that next to the pole, they should install that.

WRONG! The piping needs to be 36" down. All conduit above ground needs to be 80 sch, below ground, one can use 40 sch. Yes, long sweeping 90's to be installed. Also, the OP will need enough conduit(20'+) to run up the power pole and also a weather head and strappings for that run.

Also, one needs to install no less then 1/4" rope in the conduit so the power company can pull the new drop.

Surprised so many are giving advice for diy with Entergy. When I looked into it a couple years ago the engineer that came out said they don't allow anyone to dig their own trenches anymore.

So basically everything I said except 24" deep is for cleco and not Entergy. Got it and already corrected in another post a while ago.

You're saving some money until you cut that underground pipe or cable. Then that Entergy price looks like a pretty good deal

Just some words of advice. You probably won't find a trencher that actually digs 36 inches and depending how anal the service man is if it's not 36 inches you just wasted time and and money.

You do not need to run it up the pole. Energy will do all that. And the pull rope I put in the pipe, they did not use. They pulled mine and used your own.

Ya, most of the time the companies require you to provide the pipe that goes up the pole. You dont have to install it, just throw it on the ground next to the pole.

I did 300' from the street to my house by myself a few years ago. Rented a skid steer with a trencher attachment.
36" down, schedule 40 underground, schedule 80 above, long radius 90's. Extra 20' to run up pole laying on ground. Pull rope ran through conduit Took me around 4 hours. No big deal at all
