I don't have to add it that often.

It was a little low on tran fluid so I added some. That may have shut that code up?

now you tell me...

yes that was the trans code...

so now we are looking at the possibility of the cam sensor being unplugged

or still might be the serp belt...I haven't got a definitive answer on that yet...

depending on the codes...he may still have done something to/with the TCM

guess we'll see.

I knew you were gonna say that. I don't know how I overlooked that tidbit during all of this. It flashed that code that one time and i added fluid and haven't seen it since. Hopefully that's a good thing.

Dang, it's like we're torturing you to get the info out.
Are you a secret agent?

Yeah, the light/code was from the fluid being low. Allison's are bulletproof, but they still need fluid.

They normally have 2 Ford guys, 1 Dodge guy, and 1 Chevy guy in there. Every bay was full of Fords from the 7.3 to the 6.4. I think I saw 5 6.0s in there

I'm amazed the 6.0 didn't break ford.

Ford's diesel engines have been weaksauce, IMHO.

I'm betting that changed in 2011.

I don't hear much about the 6.7 cummins. I guess that's a good thing.

Fords are the most prevalent, so you will naturally hear more about them kicking the bucket. It does seem that they have given up much reliability in the diesel hp wars over the past 10yrs though

Just got an email from TNT.

Truck is fixed and ready to go.

quote:

Fix was easy once we found it. Previous shop had left the passenger side intercooler off when reassembling truck. All the black smoke was due to getting zero boost into the intake manifold. We put it back on, cleared codes, verified tuning, and the truck is running good.
