Anybody doing any good with the heat, west winds & low water?
My last trip was over a month ago & I couldn’t find any trout either inside or outside.

I have seen reports out of Delacroix showing trout, surprising for this time of year. No telling how far they are going though, fishing out of hopedale is on fire, I would head farther south and get into so good salty water. West side of the river is on fire too.

Be careful trusting some reports. I went to long rocks last week or the week before in Hopedale and someone else posted just that evening that trout were biting all morning . I was out there all morning and only saw catfish

Same here. We went out last Thursday and didn't do much of anything. We ran out to the end of the long rocks, bounced around Eloi and fished Comfort Island with just a a few trout and 1 bull red to show for it. Everyone we talked to was having about the same luck. We probably caught 150 hardhead and gafftop that were destroying our 2 inch live shrimp.

And like I said, some lady went on the Hopedale FB page and said they were catching trout all morning. I called her out and my response got deleted. Pretty shitty to do that to people. Maybe a marina trying to drum up business for the weekend.

There's also a guy named Kim that catches a limit in Delacroix about 6 out of 7 days every week. Not sure how but his freezers have to be stacked if it is true.

I don't even go to the long rocks, if they are on at the long rocks they will be on other places without the boat parade. If the rocks aren't crowded and you can troll to find them that would be different, but even on a Wednesday it is crowded there.

Comfort island was a miss for me to, but the fish are on the outside and in Eloi bay. We were doubling up on them just about every cast Wednesday on the outside and in Eloi bay, only problem we ran into was thunderstorms chased us in early. We did have a good bit of undersized trout and plenty of gaf tops but the keeper trout were there too. I'd post locations but... you know how it goes, the fish will just move anyway. Best advice I can give is MOVE MOVE MOVE. If aren't catching fish MOVE. That is how I have become more consistent in bringing home fish, no bites in 5 minutes I am gone, if it takes that long. If I am catching dinks I will sort through a few hoping I can find some big ones in the area, after I think I found edge to edge of the school with no or few keepers I am gone, some times just 100 feet will move you from dinks to keepers but sitting on dinks all day doesn't fill your belly. I find birds unreliable, usually catfish this time of year.

Again, move, move, move until you find fish. I haven't been skunked on a trip this year since I have been aggressively changing spots and plans on the go. This week 100% of fish were caught on plastics, sure I bought shrimp, I have it in my head if I don't buy them then that is all they will want...

I haven't been skunked much either. Maybe once. Birds all catfish for me also. I used to fish Dcroix all the time so still learning spots in Hopedale. Seems like the fishing has heated up some in the past week. I hope to make it out there next week.

I’ve taken a notice of Kim catching limits year around on the “inside” of Delacroix. He typically catches a few white trout too.

I went on a charter with that guy 10yrs ago. Dude brought us out there and fished next to us all day. Then when we got back to the launch he couldn’t clean our fish bc he had carpal tunnel in his hands lol. We went in sept and caught maybe 30 specks between 3 guys and him fishing.

Is he legit or not. I think I remember a few months ago he broke down and people were recommending sea tow and he was bitching about it or something and didn't want it even though he fishes multiple times per week.

I hear he’s always catching fish. I wouldn’t personally go with him ever again and it’s not bc I wanna be pampered. Couple other things made the day kinda meh. I’ve chartered with another guy recently, hammered fish, learned a shite ton from him, and he was just a really cool person to be around for 6-8 hours.
