Coons and squirrels destroying the wires from solar panels to motor box on my feeders. Anyone know where to get 1/4" flexible conduit? How about replacement solar panels? All of the panels I found with shielded wires have maybe 2 ft of wire. Would prefer 4 ft

we got tired of changing batteries, solar panels messing up, squirrels and coons destroying wiring, etc so we changed all the spin feeders to these this year. very easy to add on to any brand spin feeder.

No. We don't hunt over food plots. Also hunt public land a good bit, with success. Private land hunts are, well, hunts. Actually scout, find sign, trails, oaks. Takes work but pays off.

Well good for you. I bet you do well to take deer with your flint broadheads and hickory arrows

No I don't use Flint broadheads or hickory arrows. That would be asinine, but I guess you're trying to make some kind of derogatory point about this of us who actually hunt for deer?

For the record I did hunt with a longbow last 10 years or so, but recently started w a crossbow due to some shoulder issues. When rifles is open I use a .270

I, and the folks I hunt with, just prefer to actually "hunt", not just "shoot", but to each his own. Maybe you should read some Jose Ortega y Gasset about different philosophies about hunting, but my guess is the reports on Louisianasportsman.com are more your speed.

1. I bowhunt almost exclusivley on both private and public land, not over feeders but sometimes over food plots

2. Using a rifle is basically shooting and not hunting. Damn near anyone can get within 300 yards of a deer whether they look for sign or not

3. Using a rifle instead of a bow is akin to putting feed out in that you are using whatever the law will allow to increase your chances

This, folks, is called "deflection". Thib-a-doe Tiger is now trying to change the nature or premise of the discussion because his prior, stupid, comment about Flint arrow heads and hickory arrows went over like a shart in church (which is pretty funny if you're not the guy who did it).

And no, hunting with a rifle isn't the same as shooting deer coming into a feeder. Just give it up already.

We're already not buddies IRL. I'm comfortable with how things are.

I have had some luck with the using the solar panels from Academy and running the wire in old garden hose. So far I am 2 out of 3 lasting since I did that.

I guess the squirrels or coons around that third one are either fatter or smarter (probably both) but I went with this on that feeder.

No matter how much your pretentious mind tries to justify it, you are just like 75% of the hunters in Louisiana.

Deer feeders have many purposes and serve all kinds of different hunters.

For about 10 years I hunted only with a bow and only on public land. I killed several deer and have no problems finding sign and "hunting"

I joined a lease 2 years ago so I have a place for me and my family to go camping and hunting. I have several feeders at my lease because I want to draw in some does for my young kids to be able to see deer when they go to a stand with me.

I still bowhunt about 80% of the time and have a couple of hang on stands within my areas on the lease. These locations are based on travel routes.

Don't jump to conclusions just because you have a negative opinion about feeders.
