wait so they don't consider a high fence ranch a deer farm?

They are wanting to go further into deer harvesting

The stupidity of government never ceases to amaze me.

What’s the logical reason this shouldn’t be allowed? Impacts on native species would be my only guess but we dont restrict deer breeding so I don’t see the difference.

Anytime humans start fricking with the natural order of things only bad things will ensue!

Will these farmed deer be cultivated to replace the CWD gov kills?

I don’t have a clue what you are talking about, but I’m assuming it revolves around the genetics side. I don’t think it was legal to bring in out of state deer to your high fences. Maybe that is it? I don’t frick with high fences, so I haven’t heard anything about this.
Edit: maybe they are talking about raising deer strictly for genetics to sell to high fence areas.

You cannot bring any outside deer into MS, even a high fence. You can get the semen and artificially inseminate does. So you don't see the freaks like you do in other states in high fence.

I would be shocked if it even is brought up. With CWD running wild in parts of the state they have no interest in bringing in deer from outside the state.

Farming means money.
Money means competition.
Competition means maximizing efficiency.
Maximizing efficiency means as many deer as the farm will sustain, which leads to overcrowding which leads to disease.
Animals will escape and infect the native population.
They always escape. Always!

It will not get approved, it has to go before the state leg, and unless there is some fat tied to it, it wouldn't get out of committee.
