The most hilarious are those that go to great lengths to “de-scent” their gear, and then dip snuff, or even smoke wearing the same cloths to the stand.

We know. You’ve told us. 32 years experience with advanced degrees. $50/hr consulting fees. Best hunter around.

No. You do not tell me what to do. If you do not believe in extra steps to keep scent down, then do not respond to my thread. Get out of my thread son.

If you’re someone’s alter then bravo cause you are nailing the holier than thou but dumber than a brick 50 something who lectures to everyone about the key steps they took to blast a scrubby 2.5 8pt

I’m not your son. If I was I’d hate myself. I don’t know who you are but over the last few weeks you’ve made it a point to preach your woodsmanship superiority on this board, while you have been the one putting down other poster’s methods/tips far more than any putting down on you. I’d bet $1 to your nickel there are at least a dozen posters I know personally that you’ve preached down to that are light-years ahead of you in regard to sportsmanship and woodmanship. I’m not leaving. Been here since the beginning of the OB. You should probably go wipe down your truck tires with skunk piss to mask your scent next weekend.

Alot of that is not true. I do not belittle other hunters. Only offer my way as another choice.

Its that psychological behavior i pointed out - you obviously cannot excell to a higher hunt standard, so you attempt to " bring down " those who do, so that you are on equal level.
Abraham Maslow identified this phenomenom in his heirarchy of life.

Thats ok for the peeps that are out for a bit of weekend recreation, maybe kill a young doe, spike, etc.

Sounds like you are saying that “those people are less of hunters right here sort of belittling them.
I mostly only shoot mature deer now just because of how we manage our lease, but I’m not above smoking a young deer if legal and it meets the management plan of the place I’m hunting. I normally kill a couple each year 3.5yr old or better bucks or does and do it without “ scent control “ mostly wearing non camo or mismatched camo.
I guess maybe I should get serious and then I could kill some of them mature deer you talk about.
274 post and still trying to tell if your an alter or a troll either way it’s humerous

It all makes sense now.

es, it REDUCES your odor. A whole bunch of little tasks add up to 1 big outcome - Reduced scent.

Myth busters tested a dog's nose against someone wearing a gas mask and a full body suit with zero chance of any human scent escaping the suit. The dog found them no problem. A deer has a much better nose than a dog so reducing your scent is not helping because a deer can still smell you. Hunt downwind is the only answer.

No, that is a self-fufilling prophecy. It just means that you can often get away with a little funk scent with those deer because they are not too smart.

If you " see what you want to see" then that is on you. Don't read into it.

Now, see here this man has a sensible reply. I know about the Field & Stream K9 plywood box tests.

But i choose to take extra steps. Some do not. Just don't reply if you are not into it.

I am anal about this.

long showers with no scent shite, i also use hard scrub all over to get rid of any loose skin, then i use real pine scented oil in my hair etc and pine scented body powder, then pine wafers, scent lock suit and Ozone system, and hunt the wind. they don’t smell me, but try can still see and hear, also use scent cover wipes, and gum.

OP did kill a 150+ one time. with that .44. Posted it online just long enough to get his fill of pride. Then hurried to delete it to not look like one of the people he talks down to. I think he’s a good guy. Just different than many.

If you are hard up mad at the MB, then prepping for his nose will help. If for no other reason than you are investing in your hunt. So you will be much more likely to take all of the other steps of the hunt seriously. It’s just a heck of a process to really try to kill scent on everything and then try to keep it that way.

Warren Womack did the campfire smoke out method. I think that and/or adding pine straw or locust beans to your clothes storage is a good mix of diluting your scent and not working your tail off for something that is pretty much impossible.
