Not insecure at all. I love shooting it, and I don't care what anyone thinks about that. I bought it for 2 reasons- I love to shoot it, and I wanted my son to be able to bowhunt with me, and he is not big enough to pull back a bow. Truth be told, I've only hunted with my crossbow twice and killed 1 deer with it. I hunt with my compound bow and rifle every other time, and I've killed plenty with both weapons (and with other people's weapons as well).

I just find it funny when someone questions someone else's manhood for not doing what they do. For example, I have hunted with a crossbow. That doesn't mean I CAN'T hunt with a 100lb English warbow. It just means that I prefer not to. And to those doing the insulting, I just want to see the superior reason they have to do the insulting. If you tell me I'm a puss but then tell me you use a bow with 85% let off shooting 315 FPS, then, I'll just say your are a puss for not using an Indian Flatbow with cedar arrows and flint knapped heads. That takes more "manliness" to successfully harvest an animal with than a compound bow. Try to hold back a 100 lb longbow for 30 seconds while a huge buck stares at you.
Now, draw on that same buck with your Matthews that you can comfortably hold back for an hour because of the cams, and I'll question why you aren't man enough to use the longbow. See? It's the same argument applied to a different weapon in the same class just like comparing a compound bow to a crossbow.

O God, do you really expect me to read all this? There is no argument to be made. They don't belong. It is same with muzzelloaders. The greedy arse state ruined that season too.

I guess socialism is cool too. I would like to be one of the ones that don't work so I can hunt and fish every day. You could give me your crossbow then.

I definitely have a beef with someone not having to draw the bow in the moment and believe that they should not allow magnified scopes on them.

Takes away from the spirit of archery.

You can not change my mind on this.

I figured as much. My issue isn't so much with the crossbow. As I said, I've only hunted with one 2 times. My issue is those that insult others for using one. I've lurked on this site for years without posting, and finally just became a member, so that's a few years of suppressed thoughts into these posts!

with that said...I definitely believe that crossbows should be limited to the primitive season

I totally agree about Muzzleloaders. The "primitive caliber" crap is ridiculous. Either allow all calibers of firearms or only allow muzzle loaded firearms. Or just extend rifle season.

Socialism is ridiculous. As a staunch conservative, I agree with you there as well. However, you cannot have my crossbow. If you take it, how in the hell will I survive the zombie apocalypse??

I actually wouldn't be opposed to limiting them to gun season, honestly. Leave the "true" archers a few weeks to be in the woods before all the wusses with guns start putting pressure on the deer.
