I got lucky with mine I guess. Adopted her when she was about a year old, brought her into the house, and she only pissed on the floor once... no issues since. I keep her crate in the living room and that's where she sleeps at night. When I say "it's time to go to bed" and start walking toward it, she knows it's time to get in. Sometimes when my kids are bothering her she'll go an lay in her crate... it's funny how it really does become their safe spot. She knows that's like HER personal space.

that's great. My boy knows to keep off the furniture but will still try to test me by putting up a paw or something.

My wife let him sleep on the bed one night when I was gone. It's going to be an uphill battle to change his mind.

I did that with two pups. I wanted to know exactly when they squirmed to bring them to the grass. Was no problem getting them into the crate later.

Dog - "WTF are you looking at?"

Cat - "OMG do you see what that dog did? And he knows he's not allowed on the furniture."

Update on the potty training. No issues whatsoever since she had her UTI. I believe she certainly understands the concept of going to the bathroom outside, although she certainly doesn't like the grass too much. She'll go when it is dry, but if there is any moisture at all on the grass, she'll drop her business on the concrete in a second. I guess it's better than inside, right?

Almost 4 months old. Currently weighs 27 lbs.
