Sea otters are pretty damn awesome. If you catch a raft of them hiding in the kelp, they are hilarious to watch.
Saw a pod of Orcas kill a minke whale once. They earn the name of "sea wolf." Also saw a brown bear and a she wolf fight, the bear was defending her cub from the wolf.
Funniest thing ws a bald eagle snap up a salmon about 1/4 mile from the shore once. Fish was too heavy but the Eagle had it's talons all the way through the flesh and couldn't/didn't let go. Eagle did the backstroke to the shore and was exhausted. The got away once they got to shore.

This was in a local powerplant lake.
I didn't even know they were otters in there at the time.

These sea otters lie on their back floating and put a flat rock on their stomache. They hold mussel shells in their paws and crack them on the rock. Pretty engenius.

Thats what this one was doing, but he was a River Otter. He left my boat in such a hurry he forgot to take his rock and mussel shells

Kickass critters.

There are somewhere between 120k and 150k bears in Alaska. The chance to get up close to one is fairly common. Wolves are a different story, and are pretty hard to spot.

Top two would be a mink or a few otters while deer hunting. Probably forgetting something even cooler.
Why is everyone so scared of cougars. They have only rarely killed people. Deer kill more people each year then cougars do!
I realize that ONE cougar is more dangerous than ONE deer. But I hear of people afraid to go in the woods if cougars live there but they aren't scared of being killed by a deer which is much more likely. Just doesn't make sense.
A cougar is probably the animal that I would love to see or get a trail cam picture of the most. Seeing tracks is as close as I have ever come.
How cool would it be to see a cougar come walking by while deer hunting one evening. That would easily top my list as coolest.

I saw a pride of Lions hunt and kill a young zebra in the Masai Mara. Most incredible thing I have ever seen.

Big hammerhead under a rig.
Eye to eye with a huge barracuda while snorkeling.
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned gators. Most yanks are frickin amazed by em. "You actually swim in rivers where there's alligators?!"

10' Hammer head shark porpoising by the rig
A huge African sunfish looked as big as a hood on my truck.
A huge Mako swam up to the rig one night made a loop and left.
A manta ray as big as a storage building was just amazing.
Two grey fox hunt a rabbit

I am always amazed by bald eagles
Seeing a nest of water-mocassins is pretty interesting to see
One of my favorite sites has been a giant school of redfish in a feeding frenzy down in Venice. It is unreal
I have also seen a huge shark cruising around Main Pass with its fin sticking at least a foot out of the water. No idea what the species was.

Watching them fight is pretty cool. They lock talons and spiral down.

Seeing oversized Sturgeon is really cool. The prehistoric fish is also north americas largest freshwater fish.
