What are yall's thoughts on Coolers?

I see these Yetis but dam they are expensive. Are they worth the price?

What are yall suggestions on good coolers that are priced reasonable?

7 day marine igloo or coleman is enough ice chest for me. I wouldn't see a need for a yeti unless it stayed on a boat, and I wanted something indestructable. Too heavy for normal ice chest use.

Love my yeti. I like it more because I didn't pay for it....Raffle prize son

Kept regular Ice and beverages for 6 days, water was still ice cold when I emptied it. This was two weeks ago

My biggest thing with Yeti's are they are so damn heavy! Takes two people to even think about loading a 70qt filled with beer and ice into the back of a truck, and your both going to strain doing it!

Way I figure it I can buy a new tried and true igloo every 5 years for the rest of my life and still come out ahead for the price of a yeti!

I have a few smaller ones, but I have this big one and the wheel kit is the tits at the deer camp. Fit 3 deer in it with a bunch of ice this season, and just rolled it to the truck.

Like Boats says, if you need an ice chest to store ice, you can't beat them. For a beer ice chest, they are just like any other ice chest you can buy. They are not made to be opened and closed often. I have a 120 and hardly use the damn thing cause it is so heavy, weighs 40LBS dry. With all that said, you wanna buy my 120?

Get a cheapie. Less chance of cooler becoming hot if you know what I mean. Yesterday coming home from store noticed somebody had put a few 48 quarts by the side of the road. Came back in 15 minutes, somebody had already swooped em up. My wife says, you have plenty of coolers. Probably do, but a few more wouldn't hurt.

Exactly.

What I need a cooler for is to load up in my boat, strap it down, use the lid for a step for the front casting deck, hold ice, keep fish cold,be light enough to lift out of the boat and carry to the fish cleaning station and wash out.

Repeat

repeat

repeat.

frick a Yeti unless the bitch is staying in the boat like a big arse flybridge boat or something like that.

I love my Coleman extreme 5 day cooler.

I've only ever bought one ice chest, my first one. I somehow acquired 5 or 6 more, either gifts or people leaving them and never coming get them

I'd really just go to Academy or Walmarks and get a Coleman Xtreme or 7 day Igloo in whatever size you want.

Well mostly i use a 48qt. igloo to go to the camp, but a day or two later, i usually have no ice left. So looking for something that will keep cooler longer, don't really need anything that is grizzly proof.

Get a bigger chest. IIRC I think I saw a test between like igloo, coleman and something else, and Coleman xtreme held ice the longest. FWIW.

I don't even buy igloos anymore.
Hinges always crap out, locks always crap out,Lids always cave in.

I use mine as a step in my boat.Had it for 3 years so far it's been excellent.

Here ya go,pick which size you want.

You have one of those little deals you screw into the floor that holds the ice chest in place in the boat? Or does it stay in one place without sliding on it's own?

My boat has retractable straps on the sides where the front ice chest goes.
I just hook em to the handles on the cooler and it stays put.
My under seat cooler is for food and Purple Drank.

You can kinda see in this pic how perfectly it fits in the space before the deck.
