Y'all have got to understand that these people have to make these cheesy arse songs to sell records and make money. I've seen Luke Bryan do a stand up segment where he absolutely SHREDDED his own music.

Exactly! That's what made the old ones so great. Cash, Waylon, Willie, Hank. Good or bad, they lived that shite. Alot people leave out Kris K, but he is a bad sumbitch. Rhodes scholar, Army Ranger, Helicopter pilot, pro boxer, singer/songwriter, and actor. Not to mention his work in the Blade trilogy.

You can't even compare those guys to new century artists. It's obvious that times have changed and they have to adapt to make money. Sure, they have guys with the voice and ability of the old timers, but that doesn't sell records in today's world.

In the TX country world, it seems that the singers refuse to sell out to Nashville(basically Hollywood now). Music gets all fricked and fan base leaves, a la Pat Green.

If you're good, you can do both. I think the execs try the American Idol approach and get pretty boys and girls with decent voices and force them on us. Good music sells. And there's no voices with character. No Cash's, Twitty's etc. Everyone sounds the f$%king same.
