Conditioning Soft Plastics in Tacklebox

Noticed some of my plastic worms, jigs and cocahoes are dry from sitting in my lure storage boxes. Any suggestions on products that can be used to re-lubricate them?

My Dad got the 8 Up scent from Bass Pro
Smells terrible but made worms look like new

I keep my soft plastics in quart ziplocs sorted by body type and I keep all the quart bags in a gallon bag. No problems.

Is this a normal thing? I've never noticed this.

Add some anise oil (one ounce to one quart of mineral oil) if you want it to smell nice - otherwise there is zero scent.
I can't prove the anise oil will attract bass/sac-a-lait, but I've used it for decades and my freezer (sac-a-lait] and my tournament results (bass) will prove that it doesn't reject fish. I mainly use it to replace the liquid that comes in "Uncle Josh" pork rind bottles.

Back when I used to keep my plastic baits in a tackle box I always squirted mineral oil/anise on them.
Now I just keep them in the original package.

This is also my method.

Mine as well, just way too many colors and styles to pull out and put into tackle trays now a days. I then separate colors into 3 one-gallon zip locks and throw all in a soft side tackle bag. I separate by the color of water and conditions, clear water colors in one, dirty water colors in one, and every variation in the middle goes in a third. Most days I'm only picking out of one due to conditions.
