I'm looking to do a small slab in my back yard, maybe 20'x20'. Anyone have a number of a good concrete guy in that area?

pimp ain't an ob'er. He's just a good ole black dude who runs an all black crew that most of the contractors in the LP use for their finishing jobs.
He and his crew did my concrete.I'll get his number for you

10-4. I thought you meant LSUpimp.

Appreciate it.

Do you remember what he charged you? Did you do the form work yourself?

and Parish ready mix in walker is going to be your cheapest concrete. Have a friend that's a contractor? He gets a better price per yard on concrete.

Damn, they are much cheaper than Angelle. I have a couple small slabs I want to do too, comes out to 6 yards total.

Parish quoted me $743 after tax for 3000lb with fiber

Angelle quoted me $800 plus tax plus fiber plus delivery fee. They are pretty much $200 more on 6 yards of concrete. That's crazy.

Also, I am meeting pimp this evening to get a quote. He sounds like a hell of a guy from talking to him on the phone.

could have got it even cheaper if you had a contractor #

Yeah, I figured that when I asked if I could send him a drawing to get a quote. He didn't seem to like that idea too much and suggested we meet up.

I liked him, until he told me his price. He wanted a grand to prep and finish.

I decided to add a little bit, 2 slabs, 438 square feet total.

I have someone else coming in Saturday to give me a price.

Yeah, that was for everything but the concrete. Maybe it is a fair price, but I still think I can find someone cheaper.

I need a finished who is hungry, pimp must have too much work going on.

must be. Forming and leveling is some tough work tho. I didn't enjoy it at all.

Yeah, it sucks. But paying $500 for someone to scrape a few feet of grass sucks more.

Ditto for using Pimp. He did a 24x35 slab for me and I'm a very happy camper.

In fact, I'm a long time lurker of TigerDroppings and I signed up just so I could reply to this thread.

$1000 bucks to finish 438sqft is a very fair price.
